This Would be a dream come true

There are somethings in my life I would love to do before I die, most of which are aeronautical in nature. I want to learn how to fly a helicopter, I want to go to space, I would love to know what it's like to go faster than Mach 1, and what Daily Mail is reporting a gentleman is trying to prefect, being able to fly like a bird.

It's a remarkable contraption where he's on a powered glider, the freedom he must feel as he's flying has got to be amazing. If he succeeds he will fulfil the dreams of man since Adam.

A Woman's place IS in the least if she wants to stay healthy

Ok well I always wanted to say that.

The UK BBC website is reporting on that women who do housework have less risk of breast cancer. The study found that dusting, mopping and ect was better than a physical job.

Most of these studies I'm really skeptical of, including this one, but the next time I'm accused of being a sexiest I can just point to this report.

The Military's hardest duty

The Rocky Mountain News had an article about a Marine that did death notifications. The article is a little long but well worth the read

A Good Boxing Day

I finally was able to get firearms in the hands of my mom (red coat)and beloved sister (green jacket). This being the first time my sister every fired a firearm she handled the recoil of a 1911 .45 without a problem, and was very proficient with mom's husband's Rugar .22 at fifty yards. Both weren't bad at shooting clay pigeons for the first time.

I was finally able to try out my coyote rifle and busted a few clay pigeons. Fun was had by all.

As I'm headed out of the office for over a week so I leave you with this wish:

islamic group against 'Left Behind video game' because it promotes religious violence

From the same people that brought you the six imans, just in time for Christmas have started complaining that the Left Behind video game promotes religious violence.

Query: When was the last Christian suicide bomber anywhere in the world?

Query: What religious group has flown planes into American building because there are Christians in this nation?

Query: What religious group wanted to behead a Christian in Afghanistan because he converted?

cair needs to go away. Some days I almost wish we had FDR as President again

There are times I don't like praying

Here's the deal one of the saints of one of the previous churches my dad was a preacher of. A lady that was for several years a Sunday School teacher and an "adopted grandma" is near her reward. She is suffering and is ready to go home. The thing is it's almost Christmas. Her family lost a son (the father of an ex-girlfriend) a year ago in August (At the same time of the ex-girlfriends birthday).

I know that it's going to be tough around Christmas if she goes at this time of year for the family from here until the end of time. I know for the ex it still hurts her dad died right at her birthday, and it will sting if Hazel goes at Christmas (not that it won't hurt any less any other time).

So this leads us directly to the title, I don't know how to pray for this situation, and it makes prayer uncomfortable because I don't know what to ask for so...

You Are 0% Democrat

If you have anything in common with the Democrat party, it's by sheer chance.
You're a staunch conservative, and nothing is going to change that!

You Are 96% Republican

You are a card carrying Republican, and a pretty far right one at that!
There's no chance anyone would ever mistake you for a Democrat.

And we are supposed to trust government with our Information?

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ North Dakota's Highway Patrol is looking into whether the state workers compensation agency illegally used some driver's license photographs to try to identify an employee who was distributing agency salary information.
Captain Mark Bethke says when the probe is finished -- the patrol will report to the Burleigh County state's attorney to see if charges will be filed.
Bethke says it's not unusual for the patrol to investigate conduct by a state agency.
A recent state audit said workers comp fraud investigators used driver's license photos to try to find an employee who was e-mailing agency salary information. The e-mail was traced to a public library computer, and investigators later visited the
library with photos to see if anyone could identify who had sent it.
Department of Transportation administrator Keith Magnusson says the photos are not public records. Magnusson says the way the workers comp agency used them was improper.
Magnusson says he's trying to set up a meeting with workers comp officials to discuss the subject.
The Workforce Safety and Insurance agency has said it believes it was O-K to use the driver's license photos. Agency spokesman Mark Armstrong says today the agency doesn't have any comment on the investigation.
W-S-I has a contract with North Dakota's Transportation Department for limited use of driver's license photos. But the contract ends January 7th.

So when did terrorists Become gunmen?

AP is Reporting That gunmen in Baghdad has taken hostages. I have question when did the terrorists in Iraq cease to be terrorists and become gunmen. Are they trying to down play the terrorist part or are they trying to equate those that carry to terrorist?

If we were to go by the Old West terms I would be a gunfighter, because I use my tools to fight off the wolves. But in modern terms I would fall under a gunman mainly because I carry. I have never taken anyone hostage, never kidnapped, murdered, or slaughtered anyone. Those of us that carry for the protection of our families are commonly referred to as sheepdogs because we stand between those that want to do evil and those that are oblivious to the danger (or sheeple).

While we are all aware of that those in the media seam to be the least educated people in this country and they do have an agenda in this it's tough to see which angle they are going for, unless they are trying to kill two birds with one stone. Making the monsters not look as vile as they really are and try to make those that are decent law abiding citizens who carry look like monsters. But I guess that's what you get with public education.

This really makes Thomas Jefferson look like a Genious

The Knicks and Nuggets game tonight broke out in a brawl.

The quote I posted last night from Thomas Jefferson looks like it makes more sense tonight.

A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks."--Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 1785.

Proof you should just let a criminal rot in Jail

Mom Almost Forfeits Bond Money
A judge showed mercy to a mother who was trying to help her troubled son. Thirty-five year old Shannon Neva faces several charges after accidentally shooting another man in the leg when he was barred from possessing firearms. His mother, LeeAnn Neva, posted $25,000 bond for him, using money from a retirement fund and a loan. The bond order barred him from drinking, but authorities say he violated that provision.Judge Thomas Schneider could have kept the money, but will instead give all but one thousand dollars back, and advised her to check the conditions before posting bond for someone again.

My friends know better than call me if any of them ever gets arrested. With this I can show that my "cold-heartedness" is a good thing. Because you can't trust a criminal to obey the rules.

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

So the monster need a reason to want to kill us?

The fbi is saying that if the blind sheik dies it could trigger attacks.

So, when have the monsters stopped attacking us since iran took over the US embassy in Tehran? The eighties when they kidnapped Terry Anderson, blew up discotechs in Germany, took over the Akile Loral (sp)? The nineties when they took out the USS Cole, tried to take out the WTC?

We are hated by a group of people that would rather kill themselves to kill us. So we have to remain vigilent. It just is foolish to say something could trigger attacks when they are still attacking our guys in Iraq.

If I fly anywhere I'm going to eat a bacon sandwitch.

With those six imans are trying to extort money from US AIRWAYS and cair telling fellow muslims if they are shown any "disrespect or discrimination" that they should sue.

I guess they have taken a page out of the jesse jackson. So if muslims are going to take away the one protection those that fly, inspite the airlines remove alckies and other threats. And we can't use the Dakotaranger's Airline Safety plan the only option those that are flying the only option is to eat pork on the plane.

Passive Smoking Doesn't Cause Cancer - Official

Headline: Passive Smoking Doesn't Cause Cancer - Official
Byline: Victoria MacDonald, Health Correspondent
Dateline: March 8, 1998

The world's leading health organisation has withheld from publication a study which shows that not only might there be no link between passive smoking and lung cancer but that it could even have a protective effect. The astounding results are set to throw wide open the debate on passive smoking health risks.

The World Health Organisation, which commissioned the 12-centre, seven-country European study has failed to make the findings public, and has instead produced only a summary of the results in an internal report. Despite repeated approaches, nobody at the WHO headquarters in Geneva would comment on the findings last week.

The findings are certain to be an embarrassment to the WHO, which has spent years and vast sums on anti-smoking and anti-tobacco campaigns. The study is one of the largest ever to look at the link between passive smoking - inhaling other people's smoke - and lung cancer, and had been eagerly awaited by medical experts and campaigning groups. Yet the scientists have found that there was no statistical evidence that passive smoking caused lung cancer.

The research compared 650 lung cancer patients with 1,542 healthy people. It looked at people who were married to smokers, worked with smokers, both worked and were married to smokers, and those who grew up with smokers. The results are consistent with there being no additional risk for a person living or working with a smoker and could be consistent with passive smoke having a protective effect against lung cancer.

The summary, seen by The Sunday Telegraph, also states: "There was no association between lung cancer risk and ETS exposure during childhood." A spokesman for Action on Smoking and Health said the findings "seem rather surprising given the evidence from other major reviews on the subject which have shown a clear association between passive smoking and a number of diseases."

Dr Chris Proctor, head of science for BAT Industries, the tobacco group, said the findings had to be taken seriously. "If this study cannot find any statistically valid risk you have to ask if there can be any risk at all. "It confirms what we and many other scientists have long believed, that while smoking in public may be annoying to some non-smokers, the science does not show that being around a smoker is a lung-cancer risk."

Smoking ban- Even in Bars

The Grand Forks Herald is reporting that the next legislature is looking at banning smoking at bars to stop the dangers of second hand smoke.

Now, there have been studies doubting published by the World Health Organization back in 1998.

Even if second hand smoke causes cancer, what business is it of government to rule from on high how a business runs it's business?

If a person doesn't like the fact that there is smoking in a business establishment they don't have to go. If you don't want to work in an environment where smoking is occurring DO NOT TAKE THE JOB. It's not right to discriminate against smokers, they have the same constitutional rights that everyone else has. It WILL close business because people who want to drink and smoke will stay home. If this wasn't a matter of principle I would be for this admittedly I might be taken in by this, but with the marxists in New York telling people that they can't have their fries because of the dreaded trans fat, what other freedoms will government steal from us? How else will they violate the consent of the governed?

A commie by any other name... is still a marxist

The Washington Post reported that European commies are willing to work with the democratic marxists we have in this country.

Great! Just what we need is pelosi to get more left wing. marxism doesn't work, it won't work, but that doesn't matter to the thoughtless because their sheer arrogance believing that they know better than you on how life should be lived is staggering.

Why would anyone want to live like a group of people that abdicate their culture to those that would rather wreck and ruin a country because of some muslim rage? Who would want to live in an economy like france where the whole nation would rate on the poorest state if they were apart of the US.

Yes, this is an See, I told you the Democrats were marxists.

This is my bet on who will be the Dem's nominee.

Bill Richardson is expected to put in papers to run in 2008. If Richardson runs and gets the nominee there is no Republican that could take him. He has credibility on border security, even though he is directly connected to the clintons. Obama is a flash in the pan. He's peaking way to fast, Hillery is hated by the far moveon left.

I don't see any Republican that has broad appeal. Gulliani won't get the nomination because he is the very definition of RINO. McCain sold out the conservatives too much over the last few years including limiting speech via campaign finance and the gang of 14. The only conservative still standing (and there is no evidence he's going to run) is Tom Tankero.

Dude, we're going to be overrun by surfers

North Dakota is the first state allowed to grow industrial hemp. Supposedly, hemp doesn't contain THC as it's plantitary cousin does. So, after doing a background check and the DEA signing off on an application they can grow hemp.

I didn't know that there was that big of a market for the stuff, and I fail to see how it will help the farmers in this state are really going to benefit from this, especially considering how expensive federal background checks can be, but what do I know. I just don't want a commune of sixties of marxists setting up camp.

Today your smokes, tomarrow your transfat, and then the world

Now that the anti-smoking thugs have demanded taken people's freedoms in New York the marxists have determined that they want your fries. That you are to stupid to decide if you want to eat fatty food or not. So in order to control more of peoples lives the have banned trans fatty acid.

We are supposed to be a free nation. We are supposed to be self-relent and make our own decisions. This is the reason our founders threw tea over the side of a boat. Where is the aclu? For people that were upset at what the NSA phone captures supposedly did they just let their freedom of choice to be stolen because the government cares about them.

Hunting helps the economy of Dickinson, ND

The Bismarck Tribune is reporting that hunting has brought in millions into the state's businesses over the last few years. If anyone doubts anti-hunters and anti-meat people hate free market articles like this have to make you question what their driving force is

Dumb Criminal
Retha Colclasure
Bismarck police have solved at least one part of the case of the missing golf cart. And thanks to what you might call a criminal with a lack of foresight, they might soon find the culprit. Someone in the 1100 block of East Bismarck Expressway reported the theft of a golf cart. When police arrived, it was pretty easy to find. They simply followed the tracks left in the snow. The golf cart was parked right next to a mobile home in the Skyway Trailer Park nearby.

Miss Rodeo North Dakota Crowned Miss Rodeo America

For the first time in more than 20 years, Miss Rodeo North Dakota has been crowned Miss Rodeo America. Ashley Andrews won the title today in Las Vegas. The 21-year-old Bowman native says she now has completed two of her immediate goals. The other was beating cancer. She`s been in remission since August.Andrews beat out competitors from 28 states in categories such as horsemanship, personality and appearance to win the Miss Rodeo America crown.Andrews is a junior at the University of Mary in Bismarck, but she`ll put her education on hold for about a year, while she`s the ambassador for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. She will attend more than 100 rodeos during her rein.Andrews is the second Miss Rodeo winner from North Dakota, and the first since 1983.

NYPD vs a wild driver

The hysteria about firearms over the last twenty years has caused people to loose all sense of proportion. First thing is first, any tool from shoe laces, rocks, cars can be used as a weapon. A tool is only as good as the person using it or as evil as the perpetrator.

As most of my regular readers know I watch my dad get killed by an alcky in an S-10.

While I still don't have all the details to have an official opinion on if the officers were justified in shooting, I can say this a car has more killing power than 50 rounds of 9 MM Luger. A 9 MM is underpowered and in honesty there is a never ending debate amongst Shooting-Americans between the 9 MM vs. the .45 ACP which is better. Since police carry hollow point ammunition the ftps drops even farther than ball ammunition because as I have stated before HP ammunition is designed not to over-penetrate. I had Criminal Justice professor tell about trying to shoot out a windshield with .38 Special ammo (which has more powder than the 9 MM) and not being able to penetrate a windshield. IF a .38 Special can't penetrate a windshield without several rounds being fired a 9 MM WILL have the same problem.

Then you have the moving target problem and the moving shooter problem at the same time. Night firing is harder also to get the sites on target (the rounds that went into the door looked as if the officer was trying to hit the tires and wasn't leading enough). Stress firing it is not unheard of for shooters to empty their magazine and do a tactical reload. Training revolves around the concept of keep firing until the threat is no longer a threat. AGAIN, the FTSP of a car vastly outnumbers that of 50 9 MM.

While I don't know all the facts, neither does Al Sharpton, we need to wait to get all the details before we pass judgement. Unfortunately, the media has no concept of how a car can be used as a weapon. They also lack the journalistic integrity to think of other objects as being potential weapons since most media member act as firearms are inherently evil. Which is amazing, like any other inanimate object they are subject to Newton's laws of physics.

All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, along time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men.And if a sparrow cannot fall to the Ground without his Notice, is it probable that an Empire can rise without his Aid?""

Gun Registration-why should we sacrifice our right to Privacy

One of the main things that pro-abortionists claim is they have a right to privacy. Something that wasn't guaranteed in the constitution, but if Roe grants the right to privacy then why are there people that demand law abiding citizens register their firearms? There is such a thing as equal protection under the law.

For those that it is fine that the government would just lock away the information I give you this story from DUNMORE, PA where criminals broke into a state DOT office and stole information pertaining to 11,000 drivers. While the normal argument against gun registration that government would know where the weapons are if they want to confiscate them is a valid one, the fact that government can't protect personal information we give them so we have the right to drive.
