You might be a hick if you go to your prom on a John Deere Tractor

NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (AP) _ Levi Rue's ride to the prom was big and green -- but it wasn't a limousine.
The New Rockford-Sheyenne High School senior picked up his date on Saturday with a John Deere tractor.
Alissa Bachmeier was a little leery at first with her date's choice of wheels. She worried that the tractor would get her prom dress dirty.
But Rue showed her pictures of the green machine and promised it would be clean for the prom.
Bachmeier wore a green dress that nearly matched the color of the John Deere.
The couple got lots of waves and stares from people on their way to the big dance. Rue says his was the only tractor in the parking lot. Rue says he plans to major in farm management in college next year.

This kid deserves to be praised. Here's to your future.

The people that I worked for when I was a kid, when they were teenagers Norris would take his tractor to go pick up Hazel when they were courting.

good to see someone being different in a non-disgusting sort of way.

I used to see lots of old farmers going to town Friday night on their tractor because they had their license revoked for driving drunk. I didn't go to my prom precisely because I didn't have a car. His date is marriage material, because no girl I ever knew would ride to a dance on a tractor.
